Mitzi Negado releases “Sakal sa Salamin”, her encounter with her reality.
“It is a reflection of being hurt by myself also. Sometimes we don’t acknowledge the pain we are inflicting on ourselves. Instead, we always want to blame someone”, says Mitzi.
“I was actually not hurting when I wrote this song. I was happy.
Pero yung kwento nga sa kantang ito is not being able to accept defeat and the pain that was primarily caused by myself.
Mitzi further dives into her heart center. “Being in love for me means lagi kang bukas sa sakit kasi wala namang relasyon na perpekto.”
Sarili ko pala ang salarin, di pa palayain” is her realization. “That if I want to be happy, cliche as it may sound, it needs to start with myself.”
“This painful song may be considered as a love song by many. Pero sana maisip nila na they need to stop hurting themselves and give their mind and heart a chance to be happy and be at peace.”
Well, as they say – “the harder the struggle, the stronger and wiser you’ll become.”
